The exciting news around our house this week was my cholecystectomy. (I just wanted to use that big, medical term!) In layman's terms, I had my gallbladder removed. I had 2 gallstones, which is not exactly a flattering problem to have. After doing some research on the internet, I learned about the 4 F's that make you a likely candidate for gallstones. They are: Fat, Female, near Forty and Fertile. Ok, so 2 of the 4 aren't so bad. I asked my surgeon about this and he thought that since my mom and sister also had the same problem, I was probably predisposed to having them, too. I thanked him for trying to make me feel better! It didn't work...I still wanted to throw the computer out the door and crawl under a rock! Instead, I went to the pantry! I'm kidding! Anyway, about the surgery...as expected, it was very uneventful (Laparoscopic) and I feel great! I went in on Wednesday about 11am and was home by 5pm! My mom came and stayed a couple of nights with us, just in case I needed her. THANKS MOM!!!!!!!! It was so nice to have her here to keep Carson entertained and cook dinner for us! (I'm hoping now she understands why I never get anything done...Carson is high maintenance. However, today, he was soooo good for me. My mom went home today, so I was on my own.) My mom made such delicious food for us, that I might just schedule another surgery. Her Tuscan Chicken is "to die for"! I really needed her to leave today, though, because all I've been doing is eating! Since I can't exercise for a while, that's NOT a good thing! My good friend, Michelle, said "Think of it as love, not calories!" I loved that and so did my mom!:) I will forever go to her for advice and inspiration!
